Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?

Windstream offers a dedicated Customer Support page. You can use the search box to find more information on specific fees and charges, including city tax, federal tax, interstate service fees and more. Customer service will answer any remaining questions at 1-866-445-5880.

How The Penalty Fees Work

Late fees may be applied to any portion of the bill not paid by the due date, though no specific fee amount is provided. These late fees will accumulate monthly until the balance is brought current. You may also have to pay reconnect fees to have service reestablished. DISH Network, the provider of the digital TV services, requires a contract. If you have this service in your bundle and allow the contract to breech, you may be required to pay early termination fees and/or fees associated with equipment.

Windstream provides service in multiple states. Penalty fees will differ from one state to the next, but there are some fees that affect all Windstream customers, including:

  • Restoration charges: Charged to a customer account for reconnection after non-payment.
  • Termination charges: Assessed if the customer account is disconnected during a contract period.
  • Late payment charges: Charged as a percentage of the past due amount.
  • Returned payment charges: A fee added to the customer account is payment is returned for insufficient funds.

I Can’t Make A Payment

If you cannot make a payment, your service will be suspended until you pay the bill. When you make a payment, either a partial, or a full payment, the payment is first applied to the portion of your bill that is your telephone service, to keep that service running. Expect to have other services terminated if you are not able to meet your payment obligations or make a payment arrangement with customer service. If you receive social security or other government benefits, you may qualify for a discount on telephone services only, to make them more affordable. This discount cannot be applied to television or Internet services.

Will They Work With Me To Pay My Bill?

Windstream will not turn off your telephone service right away, but will be required to terminate your Internet and television if you cannot make your payment. If you call and make a payment arrangement before missing a payment, you may be able to keep your services on. If you have any experience with this company, please share below!

  1. I was in Sanford North Carolina last week and my sister-in-law ordered internet service for her house, well now she is thinking on going with Charter since your service man went to her house and looked at her rooms for service and told her he had to go down the street and get a part and never returned or called her and she is in her 70.s and she waited all day for him and is very very upset with the way you do business. This is a shame to do seniors or any other people that way.

  2. I placed an payment arrangement for $50 to be paid on Thursday the agent told me that was fine I want to know why my service was disconnected.
